Aerosmith shelve further concerts

11 August 2009

Rock band Aerosmith have cancelled a further three Canadian concerts while frontman Steve Tyler continues to recover from a stage fall. Three dates this week have been shelved following gigs at the weekend, but are due to be rescheduled.
Tyler, 61, suffered neck, head and shoulder injuries after falling off the stage at a concert in South Dakota.
Their tour is due to continue in the US next week, but an announcement about if it is going ahead has yet to be made.
The band's guitarist Joe Perry told US radio station WXRX that he though it could be up to two months before they would be able to resume touring.
Aerosmith's recent concert appearances have been plagued by health problems.
Seven shows were postponed this summer after Tyler injured his leg at a gig in June, while bassist Tom Hamilton pulled out of the tour as he recovered from "non-invasive" surgery.
Guitarist Brad Whitford also missed some concerts after hitting his head while getting out of his Ferrari, and the band cancelled a gig in Venezuela in January while Joe Perry fought off a knee infection. source; bbc.com
